Our Story: Trinity Romesberg &amp; Marcus Douglas We met the way a lot of modern love stories begin—a birthday post and a DM. One of Trinity’s friends shared a photo for her birthday, and all the way out in California during Marine training, Marcus came across it and decided to send a message. After that first DM, we started FaceTiming every day—and from the very beginning, it just felt different. Conversations were easy, we laughed constantly, and it didn’t take long for both of us to feel like this was something special. When Marcus came home for Christmas break—just 14 days—we spent every single day together. We met each other’s families, stayed up way too late talking about life and what we were hoping for in the future, and the more time we spent together, the more everything just made sense. We felt at home with each other almost instantly. Our love for God, shared values, and the way we just got each other—it was clear this wasn’t just a coincidence. From a birthday post to FaceTime calls, from Christmas break to forever—we both just knew: this was it.

Katie and Trinity’s friendship began in youth group and grew stronger at Slippery Rock University, where they were roommates and co-founded Delight SRU. Through every season, their bond has been filled with love, support, and laughter, making it so special to have her by her side as Co-Matron of Honor.

As Marcus' twin brother and best friend, Lucas has been by his side from day one. From countless hours of goofing off to finishing each other's sentences, the two have shared a bond unlike any other. Through every stage of life, they've remained each other's biggest supporters, making Lucas the perfect choice to stand beside Marcus as his Best Man.

Matthew is Marcus' brother-in-law. They enjoy hunting and talking all things shooting! Marcus is excited to have another brother and to share many hobbies. Matthew and Marcus always make sure they get to go shoot targets when they get to see each other! He is excited to have him by his side through this exciting season in life!

Jonah and Marcus became best friends during their military careers and have been inseparable ever since. A man of strong faith, Jonah often attends church with Marcus, and the two can always be found having meaningful conversations one minute and goofing off the next. Through friendship, faith, and countless memories, Jonah has become like family.

Payton and Marcus grew up together, spending their school years side by side and making plenty of memories during after-school hangouts. Though life has taken them in different directions, they've stayed close friends over the years. Today, Payton proudly serves as a State Trooper and is honored to stand beside Marcus as one of his groomsmen on this special day.

We eloped!

With this military life, we decided to elope 🤍 Married at the Somerset Courthouse on 12/26/25—the day after Christmas—surrounded by family and friends. It was dreamy, joyful, and so us. We love doing things a little out of the ordinary with God at the center. August, we can’t wait to celebrate big!

The Bride's Family

In March 2026, Trinity lost one of her favorite people—her Pap. He was funny, animated, and had a way of telling stories with the same rhythm and lines every time that never failed to make her laugh. Marcus was blessed to meet him, and he and Nana were the very first people they told after getting engaged.Pap will be deeply missed, and his absence will be felt heavily at the wedding. He was so excited for future great-grandchildren (though the running joke was that he would buy anything except a pony!). He also had so much admiration for Marcus and his military service. Trinity will forever cherish his humor, love, and the memories they shared.

In 2022, Trinity lost her Grammy—the best cupcake maker, jokester, and endlessly animated lady. Though she never got to meet Marcus, we know she would have adored him and filled the room with jokes alongside him. Grammy was someone everyone noticed and remembered. Trinity truly feels as though her sense of fashion and boldness came from Gram. Her absence will be deeply felt, and a special seat will be waiting for her at the wedding. Every dessert will be delicious… but none will ever compare to Grammy’s cupcakes!

The Groom's Family

In 2017, Marcus lost his Pap—an amazing man with a great sense of humor and a love for storytelling. Often found riding his Harley, he also loved football and never missed cheering on Marcus at games or rooting for the Steelers. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.

In 2025, Marcus lost his Pap Ray. Marcus and Trinity cherished their visits with him, listening to his stories about his late wife and seeing the love and care he always showed her. He shared his journals, poems, and photos, giving them a glimpse into his life. Pap Ray was a hardworking family man, and he was able to witness Marcus and Trinity’s engagement. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
